Meet the facilitators:
Alanna is a Kambo Practitioner from the Asheville area and has undergone training and initiation from an Umbandaime community where she lived and studied in the Amazon of Acre, Brazil. She has also studied with the Yawanawa tribe in Brazil and a Peruvian master. She uses Rapè and Sananga medicines as part of her offerings to help participants ground and focus prior to receiving the frog. Alanna is a psychiatric registered nurse by background and has experience working in hospitals and treatment centers for people with addiction and mental health issues. In her private practice she utilizes the Kambo as an alternative therapy for people transitioning off pharmaceutical medications. She facilitates Kambo ceremonies, women’s empowerment circles, grandmother ceremonies, and brings groups to the amazon each year. She is a multi instrumental musician/composer and supports ceremony spaces with live music.
David has had a lifelong affinity to connect with mother nature in an intimate way and is passionate about helping others do the same; to understand Her essence, and learn to live harmoniously with Her. David has had many years of life experience to prepare for this program, including training with plant medicine, completing the Appalachian Trail in 2015, Wilderness EMT-B training, and Rites of Passage Facilitation and Guide training with Kedar Brown. David specializes in his work with men, providing healing spaces where men gather, pray, and bring balance and integrity to the divine masculine and feminine within each person. David is passionate about discovering what it means to take responsibility, to be a protector, a provider, to learn how to truly be a man in society, and help others do the same.
